【Exclusive for Guests】 Experience the “World’s Best Rice”: Seasonal Rice Planting & Harvesting Activities
At Yamagataza Takinami (SICERITÀ), the rice we serve—“Yumegokochi”—is a revelation from the very first bite. Its incredible stickiness and deep sweetness have captivated guests from around the world.
This exceptional rice is grown with devotion by Mr. Nobuhiko Kurosawa of Kurosawa Farm in Nanyo City. As a leading figure in the “Yamagata Organic Farming Masters,” he is the foremost expert in rice cultivation in the Okitama region.
Now, that passion has been passed down to the next generation. His son, Mr. Takuma Kurosawa, recently entered his “Tsuyahime” rice into the prestigious “Okome Banzuke” (Rice Ranking) competition in Kyoto. Competing against 190 entries from across Japan, his rice was judged on seven criteria, including luster, sweetness, and texture—and it was crowned the Grand Champion!
We invite you to experience this world-class flavor, perfected by two generations of the Kurosawa family.

Taste the New Harvest
Starting from late October, we will begin serving the freshly harvested “Shinmai” (new rice) from Kurosawa Farm for dinner and breakfast. This will also include the very rice harvested during our guest activity! Note: The exact timing depends on weather and harvest conditions.
